ABOUT THIS PROJECT

This is based on some awesome concept art by Milan Vasek that I stumbled across through Google one day. I immediately liked the idea and overall design of this magic market stall. The sheer amount of small detail he was able to cram into every aspect of the concept is fantastic.

The huge amount of props took some time for me to model and arrange, but it was definitely a cool scene to build out and put together. For the most part I tried to keep everything somewhat grounded and realistic, but still add a bit of a stylized flair here and there to better match his concept art.

Everything was modeled and mapped in 3ds Max, and then exported to ZBrush to add some surfacing to the wood and stone elements. The canopy, table cloth, pillows, wraps and bags were all simmed in Marvelous Designer. It was my first time using it, but I think they came out pretty good and a lot better than I would have gotten with just Max or ZBrush.
